At Solidaritech we share one belief: that technology has the potential to be a source for good in the 21st Century.
Working With Businesses
Solidaritech is a Community Interest Company that exists solely to help Refugees and Asylum Seekers get access to technology. We work with businesses and individuals to help them donate tech – whether it be laptops, desktops, tablets or smartphones. We then wipe the machines, repair any problems and allocate these out to migrants to enable them to pursue their studies, start businesses or convert their existing qualifications to UK standards.
We use free, lightweight, open-source software wherever possible, ensuring that costs are kept to a minimum, and that older, less powerful machines are able to cope.
Corporate Social Responsibility
We’re mindful that your organisation needs to be able to see a clear, direct benefit from your donations so we make it as simple and easy as possible for you to do that. We give you the option to have your logo on each machine donated, as well as providing a case study and a photograph of one of the people you helped with their new machine. We even provide you with a draft Press Release to accompany your donation. These can be used in company newsletters, press calls or for online articles.
We don’t want to just provide machines to people though, we work with you to create tailor made work experience programs and paid internships for refugees to help improve their employment prospects and aid integration into the workplace. We also welcome financial donations from companies.
Working With Individuals
If you’re keen on helping on an individual basis we’d love to help make that happen. We accept individual donations of hardware, as well as financial donations and offers of time and expertise.
